On May 12 th , the Ambassador of India to Armenia, H.E. Mr. Kishan Dan Dewal delivered a lecture for the students of the International Relations and Diplomacy Programme of the Diplomatic School. On May 10 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Bahaa El Din Bahgat Dessouki. On December 13 th , Diplomatic School of Armenia hosted Doctor Manuel Hassassian, Palestinian ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark. He delivered a talk entitled “Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: The Current Situation and the Armenians of Palestine” for diplomats of the MFA and students of the Diplomatic School. Ambassador of Palestine to the Holy See, Issa Kassissieh, also attended the meeting. Ambassador Hassassian spoke about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the mutual perceptions and misperceptions of the conflicting sides, the Palestinian perspective of the conflict, the current state of Palestinians, the high sensitivity of security issues for Israel and problems arising from it.   On April 14th, the Diplomatic School hosted Ara Ketibian, the editor of the multi-volume compilation “The Armenian Genocide: Prelude and Aftermath. As reported in the U.S. Press” and the book “Azeri aggression against Armenians in Transcaucasia (1905-1921)”.   As of today, seven volumes of “The Armenian Genocide: Prelude and Aftermath. As reported in the U.S. Press” have been published. Ketibian talked about the content of the book and the challenges he faced during his work. 21.10.2019 • Alan Whitehorn

On October 21 Dr. Alan Whitehorn , an emeritus professor at   the Royal Military College of Canada , political scientist and poet delivered a talk entitled “Remembering and Understanding Genocide Through Literature and the Arts: A C ase Study of the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust”  at the Diplomatic School of Armenia. The professor spoke about   the importance of using art as a tool for remembering genocide for scientists. Alan Whitehorn presented selected survivor memoirs, featured films, poetry, pieces of art and music devoted to the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust and spoke of their impact on public perception of these events .

14.10.2019 • Sam Potolicchio

On October 14 th Dr. Sam Potolicchio, professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, Distinguished University Professor, President of the Preparing Global Leaders Forum and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Bologna and Mannheim Business School delivered a lecture entitled “ Public speaking and influence; effective thinking in a complex world ” for the diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia . The professor spoke about the tools to make public speeking effective pointing out the importance of the latter for diplomats.
